What is Lab Grown Diamonds

Lab-grown diamonds, also known as synthetic or cultured diamonds, are real diamonds with the same physical, chemical, and optical properties as natural ones. The only difference is their origin—created in controlled labs using advanced technology that replicates natural diamond formation. First developed for industrial use in the 1950s, gem-quality lab-grown diamonds emerged in 1971 but became widely available only in the mid-2010s. They are produced using two methods: High Pressure, High Temperature (HPHT) – Mimics the Earth's natural diamond-forming conditions. Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) – Uses carbon-rich gases to grow diamonds on a seed crystal. As technology advances, larger lab-grown diamonds are becoming more common. The GIA rigorously tests diamonds to verify whether they are natural or lab-grown. Avaidens ensures the certification of every diamond you purchase from us, guaranteeing authenticity and quality with each exquisite piece.
